Day 1 Depart U.S.A.
This evening begin your vacation with an overnight flight to Brazil.


Day 2 Buzios
You will arrive Rio de Janeiro this morning. You will be met at the airport and transferred by car for 2 and ½ hours to the seaside resort of Buzios. This chic "fishing village" offers small hotels, lots of beaches (reached by water taxi, jitney, car or foot), and sophisticated restaurants and boutiques. Watersports include surfing, windsurfing, snorkeling, and swimming (different beaches offer different sports). You will stay at Colonna Park which has a panoramic view overlooking the ocean and direct access to two beaches. There's a swimming pool and sauna as well as a restaurant.

Day 3 Buzios
A two hour trolley tour is the best way to get to know the peninsula. You will drive by or visit 12 beaches and other scenic areas. The trolley is completely open providing you with an excellent view as you smell the fresh sea air and feel the ocean breezes. You will have time to take pictures and swim at a beach. On board trolley service includes juice, mineral water, tropical fruits, and biscuits. Please note this tour is a share basis (small group) tour. The afternoon is free to swim, shop and relax.

Day 4 Rio de Janeiro
This morning you will be transferred by car to Rio de Janeiro and the Copacabana Palace Hotel, South America's first luxury hotel, dating back to 1923. The hotel was the set for the Rogers and Astair movie, Flying Down to Rio. This afternoon you will be taken for a thrilling cable car ride to the top of the Sugar Loaf, 395 meters (1300 feet) above the city with a breathtaking view of Guanabara Bay. Stop to enjoy a caipirinha (Brazil's national drink) at the midway café as you celebrate your arrival in Rio, one of the most beautiful cities in the world!

Day 5 Rio de Janeiro 
This morning you will meet the Old Rio and have the chance to visit the cultural side of this beautiful city. This tour highlights the preserved authentic Rio and features a tram ride to Santa Teresa, the old Lapa district, and a visit to an impressive church and monastery. Lunch will be at Confeitaria Colombo, a traditional restaurant built in the 1890';s in Belle Epoque style. Many of the movers and shakers of Rio dine here for lunch.& Tonight, experience the soul of Brazil - her music! First you will enjoy a typical churrascuria (BBQ) at a local restaurant. Then you will be taken to the Rio Scenarium. Located near the newly popular Lapa district, this is an antique store that becomes a classic dance hall by night. The best of Brazilian live jazz and samba are featured.

Day 6 Rio de Janeiro - Petropolis
Travel to the mountains along a beautiful winding highway bordered by lush vegetation, wild tropical flowers and exotic vines to Petropólis, where Brazil's royalty escaped the summer heat. Emperor Pedro II built his summer palace here -- now it is an interesting museum where you can see the trappings of the New World's monarchy. Mansions built by the emperor's court line the streets.

Day 7 The Amazon
Today you will be transferred from your hotel to the Rio airport to board your six hour flight to Manaus. Upon arrival Manaus, you will be transferred to your Amazon lodge. The Amazon Ecopark is located a half-hour by regional boat from the Hotel Tropical pier in Manaus. There are 18 bungalows, each with air-conditioning and private bathrooms with hot water. Dinner is included tonight at the lodge. After dinner you will have an evening tour by canoe for alligator spotting.

Day 8 The Amazon
Today you may choose from a menu of activities This is small group touring with an English-speaking guide. Activities include hiking through dense primary forest, visiting their private monkey reserve, alligator spotting, visiting local resident's house (caboclo), piranha fishing, dug-out canoe trips, etc.

Day 9 The Amazon/Manaus
After an early breakfast you will check depart the lodge for a full day tour to the Meeting of the Waters. This is where the muddy waters of the Solimões River run side by side with the dark ones of the Rio Negro without mixing. You will arrive in Manaus by late afternoon. Once known as the "Tropical Paris", Manaus flourished during the rubber boom. Evidence of the extravagance of that time can still be seen at the Opera House and the Municipal Market. You'll be transferred to your hotel. Tropical Hotel Manaus is a first class superior hotel located outside of Manaus on the banks of the Negro River. There's a health club, sauna, swimming pool and tennis courts and all rooms are air-conditioned.

Day 10 Manaus
This morning you will enjoy a half day city tour of Manaus. One of the highlights is a stop at the Teatro Amazonas, where such greats as Caruso have graced the stage of this magnificent Opera House - a remnant of Manaus' rubber boom days. Built in 1896 and recently restored to its royal splendor, this fabulous hall seems completely out of place in the dense jungle setting. After the tour you will be transferred to the airport for your flight connections back to the U.S.A.

After breakfast, the day is free until departure. Check out by 12 noon. Transfer to Cairo International Airport for final departure..
